Accessibility
Making every check usable for everyone.
1. Our commitment
Everyone asked to verify their identity should be able to finish the check, whatever device they use and however they use it. Identity Entry designs every screen, from the capture page to the console, with that goal.
2. Our approach
Accessibility is part of how Identity Entry is designed and built, not a separate step at the end. We use widely recognized accessibility practices as our reference and review screens with a keyboard and a screen reader.
3. Keyboard and screen readers
Every screen can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator. Buttons, fields and images carry labels so screen readers can announce them.
4. Readable text and contrast
Text is kept readable against its background in both light and dark display modes. Layouts respond to larger text sizes and zoom, and work on phones, tablets and computers.
5. If the live camera does not work for you
Anyone who cannot use the live camera can upload photos instead. The check continues with the same protections.
6. Continue on another device
If the device you are using is not suitable, you can continue the check on another device by scanning a code.
7. Time to finish
A capture link stays open for 30 minutes, which gives most people plenty of time. If a link closes before you finish, the business can send a new one.
8. Known limits
The movement check and face comparison rely on a camera image. If they do not work for you, ask the business that sent the link about another way to complete verification. A check that cannot be completed is never treated as a Pass, and the business reviews it under its own policy.
9. Tell us
If something is hard to use, use the contact page. Tell us the page, the device and any assistive technology you use. We read every message and fix what we find.
